In the meantime, the friends saw a flock of swans flying in the distance and decided to end the day with a hunt. Soon Siegfried and Benno do discover a lake with swans, but as soon as they begin to take aim, the swans disappear, and from the ruins of the old chapel on the shore appears a girl with a crown on her head and with a reproach asks why she is wanted to be killed? She told them the sad story of her biography: my mother died, and my father lives with a wicked witch-witch, only an old grandfather protects the unfortunate Odette. She and her friends turn into swans, hiding from evil spells.
But the owl is constantly watching them - that is the image of the insidious sorceress, who is waiting for her hour, to get rid of Odette forever. The prince falls in love with a beautiful swan-girl, but she warns him against the evil charm of the witch-stepmother. The next day, guests and daughters gather with Siegfried. Among them, von Rothbart with his daughter Odile, very similar to Odette. And now the prince is dancing with the beauty Odile and admits to her in love - he chose the bride, this is Odile.
And then her father Von Rothbart changes his appearance and turns into an evil demon with laughter; Odile laughs maliciously. And at that very moment a swan flies into the open window, immediately transforming into a beautiful Odette. And Siegfried, immediately forgetting the treacherous Odile, rushes after her.
The prince begs to forgive him. He desperately tears off a crown from her head and throws it into a stormy lake, which has already emerged from the shores.
Above them the owl flies by, carrying the crown of Odette thrown by the prince in claws. 'What did you do! You have ruined yourself and me.
