Dear users, if your modem works with only one operator's SIM card, then after the Dashboard firmware it will not work with any SIM cards. For the modem to work with SIM cards of any operator, it must be unlocked (unlocked). How to unlock (unlock) the modem, read in the forum thread. Some builds are based on the old 11th version of the software and they have problems with dragging the window, they do not work correctly in Windows 8, and support fewer modem models.
In the builds based on the 23rd version of the software this is all fixed. To distinguish which assembly is newer, and which is older, you can by the name of the firmware (Dashboard), if it starts with the number 11, then the old, if from 23, then new. But, if you are completely satisfied with the assembly of HUAWEI Modem, then you can safely use it. Now I'm busy creating a new assembly, as soon as I finish it, I'll put order on the site, that would not be a mess with the software versions. I use modems 2 and 3 in conjunction with Asus WL-330N3G micro router.
For this reason, I'm looking for a Dashboard with the most 'easy' software. What can you recommend? Can I put in a separate direction on the site huawei.mobzon.ru firmware modems specifically designed to work with routers? The firmware (Dashboard) generally does not affect how the modem works with the router.
Some routers on the contrary do not even work with the modem until it is switched to the 'Only modem' mode, that is, to disconnect all the composite devices (virtual CD-ROM, Flash reader, etc.). The firmware (Dashboard) is just a program (for example HUAWEI Modem) written into the internal memory of the modem, and working only after its installation in the operating system. The router does not have a full-featured operating system, so whatever program you have in your modem's memory, the router does not care, it has its own web interface for controlling the modem. Then I will have a request to you, it is possible to select in a new firmware 'Signal level from the BS' (as a rule it is located at the bottom of the reference, in the visually highlighted field of the program) in a digital form and statically.
And then the level of the signal can be determined only when you point the mouse at the antenna symbol and then not for long. It is very uncomfortable. Unfortunately I do not do the program and firmware from scratch, but just modify the already ready software from the company HUAWEI (Mobile Partner). As soon as the signal strength from the BS in the numbers appears in the Mobile Partner, it immediately appears in my assemblies (modifications).
